Welcome to Makai Moringa Enterprises. Since I was a young girl, I developed a deep interest in the wonderful moringa tree. My life has been bound up with this unique, medicinal, and nutrient-rich plant that has extraordinary properties.
My father, who worked as a chef for Europeans, was taught the importance of moringa and encouraged to plant, care for, and use moringa leaves and pods as part of our meals. By using moringa frequently, our family experienced significantly fewer attacks from common diseases compared to families who did not use moringa. Remarkably, from childhood until now, I have never been hospitalized except to deliver my children.
I had the opportunity to work with Optima of Africa, a Swiss-based company dealing with moringa, where my practical learning involved moringa farming, harvesting, processing leaves as food supplements, and preparing moringa-based cosmetics. When that company closed in 2004 due to financial constraints, I saw it as an opportunity to engage fully as an entrepreneur dealing exclusively with moringa.
Today, with over 20 years of experience, Makai Moringa Enterprises has grown tremendously. Our head office is located in Dar es Salaam, and we proudly operate five sales points in Arusha, Moshi, Dodoma, Mwanza, and Shinyanga. My dedicated team and I have acquired the machinery and capacity to process moringa leaf powder and capsules as food supplements, and to manufacture a variety of moringa soaps, cosmetics, and other product lines.
